Main Features.
MagicRadar Remote Sentry capture cards are available in several different versions to support 4, 8 and 16 cameras and with a variety of frame rates from 30 frames per second up to 480 frames per second - View Full List. The MagicRadar DVR software will run under Windows 2000 or XP and Linux operating systems and requires a dedicated disk partition or separate hard disk for its video storage. The software can be configured to start recording when motion on any particular camera is detected or it can record by setting a camera-by-camera schedule. Unlike conventional analogue video cassette recorders (VCRs), MagicRadar can record all of your cameras at once so no security data is lost.
If motion is detected, the software can trigger various alerts and events, such as sending a message to a central monitoring station, an email alert or a message to a pager or mobile phone. Recorded video sequences can be accessed via a comprehensive replay facility, which can be operated locally or remotely via your broadband connection. It is possible to search each camera for recorded alerts or for recorded video where motion has occurred in just part of a camera's frame area by simply drawing a mask in the part of the screen you wish to find the motion-triggered event. MagicRadar can also monitor and record synchronised sound for each camera location too
Once you have located the relevant event stored on hard disk, you can save it to removable media such as a CD or DVD as a still frame BMP or JPEG file or as video in AVI format - with or without watermarking integrity. Each video clip or still frame has a precise time/date stamp embedded in every frame so it is possible to determine precisely when an alert has occurred.

Searching for and replaying MagicRadar intruder video is achieved locally and remotely through a single control panel. You can search and drill down by date, time or frame area, to locate any alert in a few moments. Located evidence can then be written to removable media for evidential purposes.
Installation and Setup.
MagicRadar Remote Sentry systems are available in kit form for you to install yourself and can be purchased as ready-configured systems with a dedicated DVR server with the DVR software pre-installled ready to connect to an existing CCTV installation or a new CCTV configuration. RG Networks can also design, supply and install your CCTV system from scratch. We offer a full consultation and design service with certification and warranties by fully qualified CCTV and IT engineers, as well as a complete aftercare and maintenance program.
If you want to buy MagicRadar in kit form and install it on an existing PC this is quite easy to do. MagicRadar Remote Sentry can be installed on any Windows 2000 or XP PC with a spec of Pentium III 1 GHz or better and 40 GB HD plus 256 MB RAM. For configurations of more than 4 cameras it is advisable to use a current spec PC with 2.4 GHz P4 or better. Click here to download a table to calculate required disk storage for Magic Radar.
Once the MagicRadar capture card and software have been installed in your PC, configuring and maintaining your MagicRadar system is simple and is all achieved through the main DVR control panel.

You can define specific attributes for the way each camera on your system will display and record its video alerts, as well as controlling PTZ functions, resolution and frame rate of video and the sensitivity of motion alerts. For the latter, you can define specific frame areas where you do or don't require motion detection, so that unwanted activity in a frame does not falsely trigger an alert, ie. cars or pedestrians constantly passing by in the street.
PTZ Camera Controls from within MagicRadar.
MagicRadar allows the installation and control of cameras with Pan, Tilt and Zoom capability. A wide range of drivers for most popular CCTV camera PTZ protocols is available for MagicRadar and is constantly being added to. These include: Pelco P and D, Mintron, Philips, Dynacolor, Zitech, Koditech, Samsung, Dragon, GoldenEye, C&B Technology and Geosan, plus many others. You can define specific PTZ controls for each camera attached to your system and you can also define and edit "tours" and "presets".
PTZ control is achieved through the same visual interface on either the local DVR PC or a remote client, using the press button and joystick controls.
